- CTM (official): a top-up automatically extends the card’s validity; once expired, the balance and remaining usage aren’t refunded. The official page doesn’t state days per top-up — a local guide says a minimum MOP$50 top-up adds about six months.
- ID check
- CTM (official): ID must be shown to register when buying; since 21 November 2025 Macau ID holders can register at most six prepaid cards. A local guide lists accepted IDs: Macau or Hong Kong ID, mainland Chinese ID, passports and other entry documents
- SMS & calls
- Chinese guides: in mainland China, enable roaming and manually select China Mobile or China Unicom, then follow the guide’s activation steps; check SMS charges with CTM
