Egypt’s NTRA rules: foreigners need an original passport and a valid residency document; the SIM’s validity is tied to the residency and is disconnected one month after it expires unless renewed; max 5 voice lines per operator. A foreign phone with an Egyptian SIM is also auto-registered by IMEI — tourists get a 90-day customs exemption per visit, after which untaxed phones are blocked.
